Colleen started Location Staging 5 years ago, after fostering a lifelong interest in design, furniture and creating spaces that look good and feel good.
Growing up on Vancouver island, Colleen was inspired by her father, a master craftsman. After college she found herself traveling the world, being corporate (and redesigning every hotel room she was ever in) A decade later, when the novelty of airports and meetings wore off, she returned to her 'roots' and started a furniture company crafting large scale custom wood and steel pieces. (See Californawoodstudios.com) Location Staging was the natural extension of this, when just one piece of furniture was never enough.
Having lived in Los Angeles, Vancouver, Tokyo, Singapore, Amsterdam, Istanbul and Sao Paulo, she is a passionate proponent of visual richness and incorporating urban design with nature's inherent beauty. Educated in marketing and design for interiors, fashion and landscaping, Colleen believes comfort and beauty can not only co-exist, but are necessary to feel at peace in a space. When she's not redesigning homes and spaces, Colleen spends time with her family, in the great outdoors or in a workshop building things.
